ABSTRACT

The workplace landscape has undergone a significant transformation in recent years, driven by technological advancements, changing employee expectations, and unforeseen global events such as the COVID-19 pandemic and war in Europe and the Middle East. It is further evident that post COVID 19, employees who had had a taste of working remotely were increasingly reluctant to return to the workplace on a 24/7 basis. On the flip side of the coin, many employees felt isolated when experiencing an exclusively remote work arrangement. The hybrid work experience seems to balance the employees desire to balance a reduced daily stress of commuting but limiting the isolation feelings many exclusively remote employees experienced. As a result, organizations have increasingly adopted remote and hybrid work arrangements. While these flexible work models offer numerous benefits, they also come with a unique set of challenges for management. This article explores the key challenges faced by leaders when managing remote and hybrid workforces and offers insights into strategies to address them effectively.
