ABSTRACT

This paper examines the demands from current and future employees to create their own work schedule and their preferred work environment. Improving one’‘s quality of life and work/home balance are now considered along with pay scales and growth potential in careers. Employers are striving to adapt by offering flexible work environments both in terms of time and place in order to attract and keep the most qualified employees. This paper looks at factors that would benefit both employers and employees in allowing flextime and flex locations. Recognizing the historical pitfalls and creating and adapting new methods, policies, and procedures are essential steps to a successful implementation of flexible worktime/place changes.
