ABSTRACT

This study examines some key concerns surrounding individual retirement nest eggs. Highlighting the inadequacy of current retirement portfolios, it examines how additional savings, additional education, debt reduction and additional investment would help to improve the retirement prospects of future retirees. Additional savings appear to offer some hope across racial and gender lines. The study builds on a recently published work by Smith and Aggarwal [3] that developed a retirement simulation model based on the latest 2010 Federal data.
